  • 1/2 batch Sherwood Sweet Dough
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds or poppyseeds or combination, optional

  • Place dough on well-floured surface. Divide into 3 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope, about 12” long. Form into braid. Place on parchment paper lined baking sheet and cover with tea towel. Let rise about 1 hour or until puffy. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Brush dough with egg and sprinkle with seeds. Bake in preheated oven 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and has an internal temperature of 190°F (88°C).
