These mouth-watering buttermilk biscuits may be simple, but take a bite and you’ll taste that there’s nothing plain about them.
|1 1/2 cups||375 mL Robin Hood® Nutri Flour BlendTM Tastes Like White|
|1/4 cup||50 mL granulated sugar|
|1 tsp||5 mL baking powder|
|1/2 tsp||2 mL baking soda|
|1/2 tsp||2 mL salt|
|1/4 cup||50 mL Crisco® All Vegetable Shortening|
|3/4 cup||175 mL buttermilk|
- Preheat oven to 400ºF (200ºC). Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine dry ingredients in medium sized bowl. Add shortening and mix with fork or hands until mixture resembles small peas. Add buttermilk all at once and mix until combined.
- Drop by ¼ cupfuls (50mL) onto prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in preheated oven for 15 to 18 minutes or until puffed and golden brown. Serve warm with jam.
