Honey Granola Trail Mix

This delicious recipe is actually two in one! Start with a crunchy breakfast granola, then add chunks of your favourite dried fruits for a trail mix treat.


2 1/2 cups 625 mL Robin Hood® Large Flake Oats
3/4 cup 175 mL coarsely chopped almonds or cashews
1/4 cup 50 mL natural bran or wheat germ
1/2 cup 125 mL pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds
1/3 cup 75 mL flaked coconut
1/2 cup 125 mL Crisco® Vegetable or Canola Oil
1/2 cup 125 mL honey
1/4 tsp 1 mL ground cinnamon
1 cup 250 mL dried cranberries


  1. Preheat oven to 325ºF (160ºC).
  2. Combine oats, nuts, bran, seeds and coconut in a large bowl.
  3. Mix oil, honey and cinnamon together in medium bowl to blend.
  4. Pour over cereal mixture. Mix well. Spread out on large baking sheet with sides.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes, until crisp and golden. Cool. Stir in cranberries.
  6. Trail Mix: Add chunks of dried fruits, such as mango, banana, papaya, pineapple and pitted dates.


  • For maple granola, replace honey with the same amount of maple syrup.
  • Storage: Pack in airtight containers and store in cool, dry place for up to one month.
