Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Robin Hood® Original All Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup All Vegetable Shortening
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk

  • Preheat oven to 400ºF (200ºC). Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Combine dry ingredients in medium sized bowl. Add shortening and mix with fork or hands until mixture resembles small peas. Add buttermilk all at once and mix until combined.
  • Drop by ¼ cupfuls (50mL) onto prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 15 to 18 minutes or until puffed and golden brown. Serve warm with jam.
