  • 3 cups Robin Hood® Original All Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup Crisco® Shortening (All Vegetable or Golden)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 oz chocolate, melted
  • Decorations — mixed nuts, cereals, candies

  • Preheat oven to at 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Cream butter, shortening, sugar and eggs together thoroughly in a large mixing bowl.
  • Stir in dry ingredients. Mix well.
  • Place half of dough in separate bowl and mix in melted chocolate.
  • Chill dough 30 minutes for easy handling.
  • Create animals by placing mounds of plain and chocolate dough onto prepared baking sheets. Mounds of dough should just touch. Place animals 3" (8 cm) apart. Decorate as desired.
  • Bake in preheated oven for about 12 minutes, or until plain dough is light golden. Time will depend on size of cookie. Cool.
